Family Centered Treatment-Recovery

Family Centered Treatment-Recovery (FCT-R) is an innovative practice and systems-of-care model that weaves together the evidence-based Family Centered Treatment® model and best practices in substance use treatment. FCT-R addresses not only substance misuse, but also the underlying family systems and trauma histories that contribute to and maintain the cycle of addiction. Distinctive features of FCT-R include: SUD specific family system interventions, integrated trauma treatment, Certified Peer Support Specialist, contingency management, random drug screens, implementation teams and participation in a community or treatment group of the family’s choice.

FCT-Recovery Goals

  • FCT-R enables families to achieve permanency (stabilization and reunification) by improving Areas of Family Functioning through the Recovery Process.
  • FCT-R leverages the healing power of family attachment bonds to fuel structural changes to overcome the effects of trauma and dysfunction.
  • FCT-R activates the entire family system to play a role in the recovery process leading to rapid and sustained treatment outcomes.
